TODAY’S LOVE TOPIC:

Give an example in your life when you have felt/given unconditional love. What defines unconditional love for you? Is it possible to love someone with no strings attached?

Hi loves! By now you all probably know I love love. I’ve always had since I was a wee little girl. One of the reasons why I heart love is because we are all creatures who crave this feeling. It’s something money can never buy, yet it’s the most valuable commodity on earth. Who wouldn’t be fascinated by this sentiment? One of the many intriguing aspects about love is the conditions to which we love. Is there such a thing as unconditional love?

I say yes and no.

Hope everyone had a restful weekend! Rest is a word not common in my vocabulary at the moment. Baby Camdie has proven to be very active these days so any type of relaxation doesn’t look possible in our near future. Nevertheless, I enjoy being up with him and watching him grow. Every day, he does something new that makes me fall in love with him a million times more.

This post is not about my baby, at least not directly. This time I am choosing to write about Mr. ShuGar and our life post-baby. I’d like to share what it has been like for our life as a married couple now that we have added a plus one to our original party of two.

Show and Tell Love

TODAY’S LOVE TOPIC:

When it comes to love, there are different ways to demonstrate your devotion. Are you more of a doer or sayer? In other words, do you prefer to show your love in your daily actions or are you someone who likes to say it as much as you can? Share examples of your love style!

I am fascinated with the science of relationships. What I find most intriguing is how two people can spend countless hours together, build a life together, and can have very different personalities and communication styles. When it comes to love, we all seem to “express” ourselves in our own style.

How do we make relationships work when we all have our unique language style? For Mr. ShuGar and I, we definitely approach expressing our love differently.

Dear Camden,

Six weeks ago, you entered our world. Ever since then, we have been madly in love with you. Many years from now, I want you to read this letter so you can learn all about how we loved you as an infant.

Do you want to know what we felt when we first met you?

Hello sweet loves! Thank you for all your kindness you showed me for my post about mommy guilty and pressure. I find that blogging has really helped me get through these challenging times by reaching out to the blogosphere and sharing my heart. I cannot thank you enough.

Did you know I am a huge art lover? Pre-baby, Mr. ShuGar and I used to spend much of our free time exploring L.A.’s museums. My fave is LACMA because it has a little something for everybody and they currently have (had?) an exhibition of Diane von Furstenberg’s iconic wrap dress. I really want to see this one. I could spend hours at a museum just admiring the art. Every piece has a unique story to tell.

Well, one of my dreams is to begin to collect rad art in our home and create a gallery wall in every room. One day, when we move into a bigger home, I’d like to have fashion art displayed in my office. These pieces all speak out to me because they evoke style and whimsy with their brush strokes and colors. I like that they are all sort of free-flowing and not perfectly sketched out. I think there is beauty in its flaws. Plus, I’d love to wear each of these outfits. *Swoon*

Which one out of these four do you fancy? Are you an art lover? What kind of art do you enjoy?

Happy Monday to all!

Today’s Love Topic:

Let’s start a monthly tradition of having a love free-for-all topic! Post anything your heart desires about love next week. The only requisite is that you share your love with the rest of us.

As a recent mama, everything is new to me. I’ve heard my girlfriends talk about the challenges and joys of motherhood, but until you experience it yourself you really don’t understand it. One of the lessons I have learned in my five weeks as a mother is the reality that many moms are plagued with guilt and pressure to live up to the golden standard of motherhood. It’s a sort of keeping-up-with-the-Jane’s-of our-society complex. Let me use my experience with breastfeeding as an example of mama’s guilt and pressure. Keep in mind, this topic transcends beyond breastfeeding and really can be inserted into anything related to motherhood.

This post is a lesson on self-love.

Hello, sweet ShuGar Loves! I hope all you mamas out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day. This was my very first one so it was extra special with Baby Camdie. He’s already given me the greatest joy ever.

Before becoming a mommy, I developed my sponsorship page on my blog to begin to seek partnerships with blogs, businesses, and brands. This year, one of my goals is to begin to promote my brand to establish myself in the business side of blogging. My main goal when it comes to my blog is to write from my heart, but I think it would also be nice to put myself out there and see how else I can share ShuGar Love.

With that said, I present to you several partnership opportunities with ShuGar Love! Whether you would like to promote a giveaway, have me write a product review, or include your brand in one of my fab sidebar ad spaces, I’ve got something for everyone. My dream come true would be to help spread the love for those brands that share a similar aesthetic and mission as ShuGar Love. Together, we can create a lovely partnership!

For more details on how to develop a love relationship with ShuGar Love, please refer to my partnership page here.  Please feel free to message me for more juicy details if you are looking for a custom request.

Below is a glimpse into some of the partnership opportunities I am currently offering. More info for each category can be found here.

TODAY’S LOVE TOPIC:

Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Let’s dedicate this post to celebrate our mothers, aunts, grandmothers, sisters, and friends who have blessed our lives as mothers and/or mother figures. You can even give this post as a virtual gift to this mom in your life.

This will be my very first Mother’s Day ever. I can’t believe I have the honor of having someone call me mom (one day when he can speak). It still seems surreal. I will dedicate another blog post about my own thoughts so far on being a mommy, but for this post I would like to celebrate the existence of my own mom, my guardian angel on Earth.  I have written an ode to my mama before. However, as a new mama, I have a fresh perspective on what constitutes the definition of mom.

The Big Mommy Secret

Ssshhh

Mommy’s Corner is a weekly series exploring our journey in becoming parents, our love for our ShuGar baby, and general topics related to mommyhood.

We mommies are fascinating human beings. In many ways, we are the givers of life, the (true) heads of a household, the major food supplies for our babies, and the root of love in our family. Despite all these accolades, we are also individuals plagued with an exorbitant amount of self-doubt and guilt, at least first-time mommies. And, no, first-time daddies don’t carry this same burden. Interestingly, I believe these feelings transcend to many women, mom and non-moms. I’ve just barely entered the mommy club, but I’d like to unveil some of our dark secrets about labor and post-labor many mommies choose not to tell (or conveniently get amnesia about).
