The All You Need is Love Project is a movement to inspire more love on this planet. The more we come together, the more love we can share. Join the revolution here!
Hi ShuGar Loves! My posts are currently pre-scheduled as I am taking time off to be a mommy. I’ve enlisted the help of my bloggy friends (cue Ringo Starr & The Beatles song) to write some guest posts for you lovelies. They’ll be contributing throughout this month of April. Please show them some love by reading their guest posts and also visiting their awesome blogs. Love these ladies! I’ll still be reading your comments from time to time, but my responses will be delayed. Not to worry, though. I have planned some quality content for you in my absence. I plan on returning at the end of April with lots of heart updates.
TODAY’S LOVE TOPIC:
Share your favorite (or one of your favorite) loves quotes. Why does this quote resonate to you? Share your heart with us!
My dearest bloggy friend, Julie, is hosting today’s All You Need is Love Project at her blog Home is Where the Heart is. Please visit her blog to link up and meet other wonderful love bloggers!
Julie chose today’s love discussion and I just had to share my quote with you all. It’s from one of my fave poets, Pablo Neruda.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close. ~Pablo Neruda (100 Love Sonnets)
This quote says it all about love.
Love is pure. You really don’t need much in the way of explaining what love is. Love is all. You all know how I am huge lover of love. This quote above demonstrates the power of the most universal human emotion. In my 20’s, I longed for feeling this type of love that Neruda writes. It’s a rare thing to love unconditionally and feel so connected to a person that you feel like one entity.
Please don’t mind the cheesiness of what I am about to say, but Mr. ShuGar personifies love for me. He embodies Neruda’s quote. He holds the key to my heart and that key is something I guard dearly. Not just anyone can have it. Mr. ShuGar earned it with his devotion and care through the years. Our marriage gave an official love stamp of dedication we have for our relationship. It does not define us; we are defined by our love.
These past months, I’ve seen a different, softer side of Mr. ShuGar. As he prepares to be a daddy, I’ve noticed this warmth and tenderness he shows to both myself and ShuGar Boy. It has made me love him more profoundly. As the quote says, I love Mr. ShuGar “without problems or pride.” There is no room in true love for these obstacles. If they obstruct your heart, then this means your love is not secure and it may be faltering.
Neruda says when you love, “I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving.” Yes! I love Mr. ShuGar in the only way I know how – uncontrollably head over heels in love.
Some of you naysayers may be shaking your heads thinking I am in some honeymoon phase. Think what you want – Our love is genuine and eternal. I waited thirty years to find it. I knew when I did, it was the real deal.
What I love about this quote is it shows how intimate love can be. I’ve never liked the comparison of marrying your other half. I am whole; Mr. ShuGar is too. He doesn’t complete me. I am fulfilled as an individual because I love me. However, when you love truly you feel so connected to someone that their pain is yours. Their joy is your happiness. It’s something so powerful that you never truly understand the logic of it. It just is.
Thank you, Mr. ShuGar, for allowing me to love you my way – eternally, fully, unconditionally.

NEXT WEEK’S ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE PROJECT SUGGESTED TOPIC:
How do you forgive and fall in love again? Forgiveness is a part of love. How have you mastered the art of forgiveness? (I will be having a guest post from another lovely blog to share in the discussion!)
