Good morning, ShuGar Loves! Oh, I have a treat for you today. I have wanted to share some ideas on home decor ever since I started this blog. In my opinion, if you love fashion, you are also a home decor lover. Mr. ShuGar and I have been not only prepping the baby’s room, but we’ve decided to redecorate our entire house. Why not, right? As you know for all you decorator lovers, it’s all in the details. If you want to create a true vibe for you house, every accent, wall, pillow has to work together and compliment your theme.

I’d like to share with you one way you can keep your home stylish, while still keeping the importance of function by using the Kleenex Style Studio. Kleenex’s new campaign to commemorate its 90th anniversary (wow!) makes your home even more stylish with their decorative tissue boxes with loads of designs. Let me show you what I mean.

Hello, sweet lovelies! It’s the first Monday of February. Seriously, where did the time go? I remember talking with you about New Year’s resolutions (which we need to follow up on some time later). I hope you all had a fun weekend. We spent the majority of the time cleaning house by putting everything away we had moved out of the rooms that had wooden floors installed. This whole process reminds me how much I hate moving; boxes everywhere is not my idea of relaxing.

A few weeks ago, I got an email from a fellow fashionista blogger, named Janelle, who blogs at Confessions of a Fashion Stylist, owner of the official blog of Sasha Bowman, personal stylist and image consultant. She asked if I wanted to share my version of the “La Mere Layering Technique” and, or course, I jumped at the chance to do another fashion post!

But, wait! I want more reading!

Preggo Fashion on the Cheap

Carmel-Contemplating

Hello, friends! How was your weekend? Have you been busy sticking to your New Year’s resolutions? I went to the gym this weekend (as my usual routine) and it was packed. I guess it’s filled with folks resolute on losing weight. Let’s see how long it stays this crowded. We had a productive weekend: We bought a dresser for our ShuGar baby! It’s so cute. I can’t wait to show you the grand reveal. We also finally sent out our baby shower invites. We still haven’t managed to complete our registry. Gosh, it is so complicated and time-consuming.

The moment I discovered I was preggo, I vowed to stay in my regular clothes as long as I could. After all, maternity fashion can be so pricey!

But, wait! I want more reading!

Black & White Love Affair

Hi ShuGar friends! How was your weekend? Was it cold in your part of the world? It sure was in L.A., but I do preface this with saying we are chickens when it comes to any temperature below 50. For us, it was “freezing.”  We went on a hospital tour of the labor and delivery section of our hospital. So exciting! It was great we did this because it takes the mystery out of the unknown. I loved the hospital staff.  We also tried the trendy restaurant, Fig & Olive. The food was good and the ambience was really nice. Oh, I have come up with another great feature to add to the blog! Stay tuned this Friday for the grand reveal.

Now, onto your weekly dose of ShuGar Fix Mondays. I was approached by the company Brilliant Earth to explore their jewelry collection and I jumped at the chance of swooning over jewelry. After all, diamonds really are our best friends, right? As I searched the website, I was really impressed with the quality of the pieces, but also that of the company. Brilliant Earth believes in providing the highest quality of jewelry using socially responsible practices, which includes avoiding any use of conflict-free diamonds. Plus, what’s really rad is they donate a portion of their profits to benefit communities affected by the dirty side of the diamond industry. Now, that is something worth shopping for! Diamonds are on the minds of many this season because of all the gifting and proposals happening. Such an exciting time to receive jewelry!

The more I thought about diamonds, the more I wanted to wear white in some part of my fashion.  I know there is a rule that you can’t wear white after Labor Day, but rules are meant to be broken, dontcha think? I love pairing white with black. It’s just so classic and clean. I confess, dear readers, I am having a black and white love affair.

Using the beautiful vintage-inspired Danuta Earrings and Lucina Rings as inspiration, I created a black and white inspiration board.  I am obsessed with these two coats! I know in L.A. we don’t usually have coat-weather, but I’d suffer through feeling stuffy to wear one of these beauties! Oh, and those white dresses would look divine at a holiday party. I opted to add pops of black either in the tights or the gloves. Finally, who doesn’t love a heart pouch to carry your lady items? I heart it all.

Best of luck to all those fellas proposing to their loves! I hope I inspired you to add some black and white to your wardrobe this season.

Do you enjoy wearing white and/or black this time of year? What’s one of your favorite fashion items of this color palette?

Wishing everyone a great day! I’m excited to reveal a collaborative post for this week’s Mommy’s Corner.

Disclosure: This post is a collaboration with Brilliant Earth, but all opinions are my own.

Wedding Dreaming

Hi ShuGar Loves! How was your weekend? I had a great time connecting with friends and family. I finally got a chance to eat at Cafe Laurent. Yum-Mee! They know how to do French brunch.  I also met up with my sis and mom to begin planning our dual parties: Her bridal shower and my baby shower. So much joy in our family happening these days!

All this party planning has me thinking of the last party I planned: our magical wedding. I wouldn’t change one thing about our day. Well, except I would want the day to move in slow motion so I could soak in every sweet moment. It just went by sooooo quickly!

There are so many dreamy wedding dresses out there now! When I was looking for the dress, BHLDN was just barely opening and I swoon over all their dresses. I’m also crazy about Sarah Seven dresses. My wedding dress aesthetic is a combination of whimsy and elegance.

If I would go shopping for the white dress again (to marry Mr. ShuGar again), these are some of the top dresses I’d be dreaming about. Aaahhhh, you can never really take the bride out of the wife 😉

Have a beautiful Monday, all!

Annie Hall Inspired Fashion

Hello, ShuGar Lovelies! Did everyone enjoy their weekend? We had a relaxing and very productive weekend with family.  These are always my fave kind of weekends.

On Friday, I reviewed one the films I adore: Annie Hall.  For this ShuGar Fix Mondays, I took Annie Hall’s iconic fashion into 2013.  As I mentioned during my review, Annie Hall’s clothing throughout the film was a fashion moment where women began to embrace aspects of male clothing and feminize them.  Sort of reminds me of Coco Chanel and how she revolutionized the fashion world. I’d rock each and every piece above. I am obsessed with those glasses and that hat! I think it’s kind of awesome when women redefine what is considered “feminine” and make it their own version.

This post is dedicated to those trail-blazing women who weren’t afraid to challenge gender rules and, instead, opted to bend them.

Happy Monday to all!

Falling for Him

Hello all!

Hope you all had a fab weekend. I had lots of fun as I played host to my British friend from years ago. It’s always nice to know that neither time, nor an entire country + a pond, can separate good friends. We were flatmates way back when I studied abroad in London and we’ve been buds ever since.

So, last week’s ShuGar Fix was all about my fall wants, right? Well, this week I dedicate it to the fellas for fall. I’m inspired by Mr. ShuGar and the many outfits I’d love to see him in.  Ever since we’ve started watching Project Runway together, Mr. ShuGar has developed a deeper appreciation of fashion and I kind of want to take credit for that 😉 To me, everything looks good on him so I love to go shopping for him. It’s so rad to pick out things for him to wear and see him look hot in new threads.

In general, I think fall has amazing fashion. You can look so much more elegant. Case in point with all the above men’s fashion I am currently coveting for Mr. ShuGar. By the way, if you want to follow along my dreams for Mr. ShuGar’s fashion, feel free to follow my pinterest board.

I absolutely love to see Mr. ShuGar in hats. Totally sexy! Any man looks good in a coat, too. Swoon! Enjoy my dear readers!

What do you like to see your man in?

P.S. I’m still crushing over my new blog design! I like! Thank you to everyone for all your kind words.

Hello all! Long time no see! I had to take some time off to attend to some personal business, but I am glad to be back to my blogging world. I’ve missed it.

My blog redesign is almost done. I am so excited to unveil it to you all. I will be offering my first ever giveaway to celebrate so stay tuned. More to come!

It’s officially fall and for me that means one thing: Fall Fashion! It’s actually my favorite season because of the endless accessories you can wear. You know I am a fan of accessories and fall is the perfect reason to wear that cute hat, those stylish gloves or throw on a fun sweater. Above are some items I’ve been dreaming of. Ahhhh…time to start making that hot cocoa too.

I’m sending you all my love…

ShuGar Fix Redux: Head Bling

Hello all! Hope you had a fun-filled Labor Day weekend (for those of us in the States).  We started working on some overdue home improvement projects so it was a very productive weekend.

Since I didn’t post yesterday for ShuGar Fix Mondays, this post is a redux fashion shoot. I’ve wanted to do this fashion photo shoot all summer, but somehow the summer just slipped away from me.  This post is all about one of my favorite accessories: hats & other fun head accessories! I cannot deny that I love wearing head bling year round. In honor of the last days of Summer and the beginning of Fall, I present to you some of my head accessories.

But, wait! I want more reading!

ShuGar Fix Mondays: In a World Casual Fashion

|1| GAP Boyfriend Jeans |2| Graphic Tee |3| Roxy Sneakers |4| Striped Cardigan

Good morning, sweet readers! I hope you had a fun-filled weekend. Don’t you wish we had one more Saturday in the weekend? Anyways, I digress.

You might have noticed that it is looking a little different on the blog. Well, after giving this much thought, I have decided to begin the process to remake my blog and give it a complete makeover! I’m so excited! This will be a process and I ask for our patience in the meantime. Most likely, it will take about a month or so for my blog to be fully completed. I promise you it will look so rad when it is done. Plus, I am planning a special gift giveaway to my loyal readers to unveil the new blog!

Ok, now, let’s talk fashion. Last Friday I reviewed the super cute film, In a World (go see it!).  Today’s fashion is inspired by the main character Carol, played by Lake Bell.  She’s all about casual clothes and is not a dress-up kind of gal. In fact, in one scene of the movie she has to wear a dress and she literally does not have one. Fortunately, a neighbor let’s her borrow one just for the occasion! This fashion is all about being comfy in your clothes. I would love to have those jeans!

I wish everyone a super happy Monday!
