TODAY’S LOVE TOPIC:

Our monthly tradition of having a love free-for-all topic is next! Post anything your heart desires about love next week. The only requisite is that you share your love with the rest of us.

Hello all! It’s my favorite time of the week to talk about love. It ain’t no secret that I am a Beatles lover. I mean after all we had a Beatles wedding and used the Beatles to announce our little Camdie was coming into our lives. They’ve even inspired this entire love movement!

You may ask why I am so crazy about the Beatles. Well, the answer is simple: Love.

My favorite Beatle is John Lennon. For many Beatles fans, his relationship with Yoko Ono was quite contentious. For me, it never has bothered me because when I see pictures of them as a couple I can see that they were crazy in love with each other. They may have done things which were unconventional, but no one can deny their devotion towards each other.

Well, I stumbled upon this rad animated video of an interview John Lennon and Yoko Ono gave ages ago. In the video, they describe in great detail what they think of love. Take a look first and then let’s chat.

Isn’t the animation combined with John’s words just the coolest thing ever? This is why I heart The Beatles: They’re all about love.

I’d like to highlight some things John said taken from the fun site Brainpickings.

On the secret of love:

“You’ve got to work on it. It is a precious gift, and it’s a plant, and you’ve got to look after it and water it. You can’t just sit on your backside and think, “Oh, well, we’re in love, so that’s alright.”

Isn’t this spot on? With love, you just can’t ignore it and expect it to remain alive. It you do, it will remain stagnant. It’s work and you have to be forever mindful of that. With Mr. ShuGar and I, we know we need to cherish each other and continue to support each other through the good and the bad. It’s too easy to disregard the hard work in a relationship.

On the idea of too much love:

“If you love somebody, you can’t be with them enough — there’s no such thing.”

Totally! I have heard of some people saying that love can be toxic if you give too much of yourself. Um…I don’t think so! There is a risk if you fall head over heels in love, but it’s always worth it. At least you can say you felt love. Love should grow deeper and deeper and it should be limitless.

For this and many more reasons, The Beatles are just the ultimate band.

TODAY’S DISCUSSION TOPIC:

How would you define love? How do you love? If you met someone who has never loved, what would you say it feels like?

Love/Marriage is something you have to work at. It’s like a flower; if the flower isn’t watered, it’s going to die. The love in the marriage needs to be taken care of.
