Mrs. ShuGar Reviews: Philomena

Hello, hello! I realize I am way late on posting this movie review, but I figure I am still ok if I do this before Sunday’s Academy Awards. I saw this film during our baby moon back in December, so, at this point, it feels like centuries ago. However, since this movie is nominated in several categories, I think the discussion is still relevant.

Let’s get started.

The Feel of Love

The All You Need is Love Project is a movement to inspire more love on this planet. The more we come together, the more love we can share. Join the revolution here!

Today’s Love Topic:

How do you know when you are in love? What does it feel like to you?

So excited to begin the All You Need is Love Project with you! It’s been months in the making and today is the official kick off! I’ll have more info at the end of the post on how you can join in the love today or any time.

The picture above captures the moment every day I feel love. Any of you lovely people who live with your partners can hopefully relate. I feel love when I park my car in the driveway, walk to my door, insert the key into the key hole, turn the doorknob, and then it happens…

Here Comes the Son

Looking at Each Other Balloons 1

Mommy’s Corner is a weekly series exploring our journey in becoming parents, our love for our ShuGar baby, and general topics related to mommyhood.

Hello, loves! I am so excited to share this post with you. As I mentioned previously, this weekend we had our Yellow Submarine ShuGar Baby Shower and it was a love-filled day. Mr. ShuGar and I invited a few (actually more than that) of our closest family and friends to celebrate the soon-to-be arrival of our baby love. The day was so wonderful because we got to share our happiness with those we care about most. Mr. ShuGar and I are blessed beyond measure because we are surrounded by so much love from family and friends. I can’t wait for ShuGar Boy to feel this love.

Before I present the photos to you, I’d like to take this moment to acknowledge my sister for hosting the entire event. She worked endless hours to prepare every detail and she is a craft goddess. Thank you, sis, for giving of your heart and time. My sis’ best friend was so kind to help set everything up on the day of. Such a lifesaver! Thank you for lending a hand when we needed you most! I’d also like to thank my parents for contributing to all the prep (financial and beyond). We are so lucky to have you in our lives! Finally, I want to give a shout out to my dearest friend, Angela, who took all these pics. I know first hand how hard it is to take photos during an event. I appreciate you capturing all the love so beautifully!

Now, let’s enjoy some cute photos, shall we?

Good morning, sweet friends! How was your weekend? We had quite a memorable one as we celebrated the soon-to-be arrival of our ShuGar Baby by having our Yellow Submarine baby shower. Hosted by my uber-talentd sis, we had mop top balloons, submarine twinkies, fresh tacos, and a delicious red velvet cake (I tried a bit!). We are so grateful to have so many loving family and friends who we can share this very special moment in our lives. Our baby is blessed to have all of your love! I will share pics in the next few weeks.

Most times, I like to make a statement with my accessories; other times, I think simplicity can be a stronger style choice. This is especially true of necklaces, which I generally prefer to be bold and unique. However, these sweet, simple necklaces above are so lovely in their designs. I think you can use any of these necklaces with a patterned top and/or bottoms. Number two is one of my faves because it says “Mrs.” So cute! The majority of these necklaces have something to do with love because, well, you know! You can let the rest of your outfit do the talking and any of these necklaces could be the cherry on top.

What type of accessories do you prefer wearing? Do you use more loud pieces or do you prefer simple?

Happy Monday!

P.S. Have you heard about my All You Need is Love Project? Join me as we spread more love all around us. Thursdays are the day!

All You Need is Love Project

Hello, sweet friends! Thank you to all who shared the love for my Kleenex Style post. If you haven’t stopped by to see how I styled my home with the cutest Kleenex boxes, take a look! It was loads of fun creating the concept. Also, I appreciate your insight into the Mommies vs. Non-Mommies debate. It’s so interesting to hear how both sides feel about each other.

I am so proud to finally unveil a project I have been working on since last year. The launching date is finally here! Inspired by love to write this blog, I am taking it a step further by introducing you to my All You Need is Love Project. And, yes, it will involve lots of hearts and YOU.

Mommies vs. Non-Mommies

Mommy’s Corner is a weekly series exploring our journey in becoming parents, our love for our ShuGar baby, and general topics related to mommyhood.

Ladies, I’ve noticed that not only does there seem to be a divide between married and single gals, but there is also one between mommies and women who do not have kids. I wrote about the former a while back in this post and I loved reading your comments. It’s sort of fascinating how we pit ourselves against each other in these binary categories. Since I was formerly a non-mommy and I will soon enter the mommy club, I thought it would be interesting to have this conversation.

Style Your Heart Out with Kleenex

Good morning, ShuGar Loves! Oh, I have a treat for you today. I have wanted to share some ideas on home decor ever since I started this blog. In my opinion, if you love fashion, you are also a home decor lover. Mr. ShuGar and I have been not only prepping the baby’s room, but we’ve decided to redecorate our entire house. Why not, right? As you know for all you decorator lovers, it’s all in the details. If you want to create a true vibe for you house, every accent, wall, pillow has to work together and compliment your theme.

I’d like to share with you one way you can keep your home stylish, while still keeping the importance of function by using the Kleenex Style Studio. Kleenex’s new campaign to commemorate its 90th anniversary (wow!) makes your home even more stylish with their decorative tissue boxes with loads of designs. Let me show you what I mean.

A Week in the Life: Week 6

A Week in the Life is a photo inspiration series to document every day moments in my ShuGar life.

Hello, hello friends! Happy Heart Day! Whether you celebrate romantic, familial, or friendship love, I wish you a love-filled day. If you want to know my take on what love is, feel free to read my post about the Sound of Love.

Let’s get to sharing photos – this week’s photos are really random shots of what caught my attention in the hustle and bustle of our every day lives. I hope you enjoy these snapshots!

The Sound of Love

Today is almost Love Day! I believe every day should be treated as a day to say,” I love you,” but V-Day sort of reminds us to express our hearts. I’ve never been a fan of going to fancy restaurants, spending money on overly-priced jewelry, or meaningless words. Mr. ShuGar and I have a tradition of exchanging cards with personal sweet messages and just dedicating some part of the day to being together in the moment. We want to ignore the noise from the rest of the world.

This year, our V-Day presents came early.

Let’s Talk About Boobies

Mommy’s Corner is a weekly series exploring our journey in becoming parents, our love for our ShuGar baby, and general topics related to mommyhood.

You ready? Let’s do this. Mr. ShuGar and I took a breastfeeding class last week and we both learned A TONS! You wonder how much we could actually learn about breasts in three hours? Well, apparently, a whole lot. I’ll share with you what we learned in our class below. Before I do so, I’d like to preface that I understand breastfeeding is a “controversial” topic for some, although I’m not really sure why. Additionally, I am aware that not every mother wants to or can breastfeed. This is a no judgment zone, so for purposes of this post, I will continue with sharing my discovery of the value of breastfeeding.
