Sunshine Awarded

Happy Monday, dear friends! How was your weekend? I hope it wasn’t too cold in your parts. I can’t complain because L.A. has temperate weather year round. This weekend was full of exciting projects – we almost completed our baby registry (whew!), we started installing wooden floors in our ShuGar baby room, we saw Her, and we somehow managed to squeeze all our belongings from five different rooms into three to make space for the floor installation. All in two days!

Instead of my regular ShuGar Fix Mondays post, I will be doing something a little different to share that I have been awarded the Sunshine Award by my sweet bloggy friend Kristy, who blogs at Twist & Sprinkle! This is my second time receiving this awared and I am honored. Thank you, Kristy, for nominating me for this award – it definitely brought smiles and sunshine to my day! If you haven’t visited Kristy’s blog, it’s a must-read. She blogs about parenting, cooking, DIYing, and her profound love for her family. Every post she writes touches my heart, especially this post about The Struggles of being a Young Mom.

Now, onto the juicy details of the Sunshine Award.

Mrs. ShuGar Reviews: American Hustle

Hi there! Finally, TGIF! This week has been extremely busy and I have neglected blogging a bit. Work is picking up and our home improvement projects are well underway. Since the painters completed the project, we’ve had our house in total disaster. We haven’t made an effort to clean it up as we are installing wooden floors for ShuGar baby’s room. In short, the ShuGar house is in disaray as we continue to prep for baby. It’s daunting and exciting all at the same time!

Mr. ShuGar and I have managed to see some of the Oscar-worthy films in the past weeks. This is our annual tradition and our favorite time to go to the movies! I’ve been anxiously wanting to share my reviews, so I’ll be sprinkling them throughout the next few weeks leading up to the Oscars.  Let’s start today with American Hustle.

ShuGar Baby Monthly Update: Week 26

Mommy’s Corner is a weekly series exploring our journey in becoming parents, our love for our ShuGar baby, and general topics related to mommyhood.

Hiya! It’s Wednesday….days away from Friday. Can I get a high-five for that? I can’t wait to sleep in. This mama is soooooooooooooo tired. I cannot believe Week 26 of my pregnancy is here and almost gone. Where has the time gone? That means I have 14 more weeks before I meet the other love of my life.  If you can’t see me through this blog post, I am beaming with a huge smile on my face. Now, onto the good stuff….my Week 26 preggo updates.

Preggo Fashion on the Cheap

Hello, friends! How was your weekend? Have you been busy sticking to your New Year’s resolutions? I went to the gym this weekend (as my usual routine) and it was packed. I guess it’s filled with folks resolute on losing weight. Let’s see how long it stays this crowded. We had a productive weekend: We bought a dresser for our ShuGar baby! It’s so cute. I can’t wait to show you the grand reveal. We also finally sent out our baby shower invites. We still haven’t managed to complete our registry. Gosh, it is so complicated and time-consuming.

The moment I discovered I was preggo, I vowed to stay in my regular clothes as long as I could. After all, maternity fashion can be so pricey!

A Week in the Life: Week 3

A Week in the Life is a photo inspiration series to document every day moments in my ShuGar life.

Happy Friday, friends! I hope 2014 has been fab so far. For this installment of A Week in the Life, I will be sharing Christmas images and our baby moon photos. Lots to share because we have done so much in just a short amount of time. Here goes:

Growth Beneath the Surface

Happy New Year, ShuGar Lovelies! How has 2014 been for you so far? I wish you all the very best in 2014. We spent a glorious week in Carmel for our baby moon. I want to go back! It was just nice to get away with Mr. ShuGar and just “be” – no distractions, no errands to run, no meals to cook or dishes to clean.  Just five days of “us.”

The New Year is synonymous with resolutions, whether you adhere to them or not. I am not a huge fan of lofty resolutions, which only cause you to feel disappointed and overwhelmed. Let’s keep in real in 2014 and look at what growth we can support that lies beneath the surface.
