Dear ShuGar Baby: You and Our Love are Growing

Mommy’s Corner is a weekly series exploring our journey in becoming parents, our love for our ShuGar baby, and general topics related to mommyhood.

Dear ShuGar Boy,

My oh my how much you’ve grown in the past few weeks! Everyone we love now knows that you are living in my tummy. We are all eagerly awaiting for you to arrive.  They say you are the size of a sweet potato (5.5 inches, 5 oz.)! Sometimes I wake up in the morning and still cannot believe you have chosen me to be your mommy. I am nervous because I want to be the best mommy in the world for you. I don’t have a lot of experience with little ones, so I am trying to study real hard to learn all I need to know to be your mom for the rest of your life.

But, wait! I want more reading!

Annie Hall Inspired Fashion

Hello, ShuGar Lovelies! Did everyone enjoy their weekend? We had a relaxing and very productive weekend with family.  These are always my fave kind of weekends.

On Friday, I reviewed one the films I adore: Annie Hall.  For this ShuGar Fix Mondays, I took Annie Hall’s iconic fashion into 2013.  As I mentioned during my review, Annie Hall’s clothing throughout the film was a fashion moment where women began to embrace aspects of male clothing and feminize them.  Sort of reminds me of Coco Chanel and how she revolutionized the fashion world. I’d rock each and every piece above. I am obsessed with those glasses and that hat! I think it’s kind of awesome when women redefine what is considered “feminine” and make it their own version.

This post is dedicated to those trail-blazing women who weren’t afraid to challenge gender rules and, instead, opted to bend them.

Happy Monday to all!

Mrs. ShuGar Reviews: Annie Hall

Hi all! How was your Halloween? We had tons of fun! Mr. ShuGar and I dressed up as the main characters in the indie flick Juno.  In case you missed it, check out my fb or instagram for pics.

Mr. ShuGar and I have a thing for Woody Allen. I acknowledge that Woody Allen is not for everyone. Myself, I can only take him in low doses, but, in my book, he is a comedic & writing genius.  Besides Midnight in Paris and Blue Jasmine, I prefer Woody’s older films when he was in his prime. By far, my fave film of his and one of my fave of all time is Annie Hall. This movie redefined what we now refer to as romantic comedies. It’s smart, funny and so-not-sappy.
