Mexican Estrellitas Soup

Let me preface this post by saying I am NOT a food blogger.  I wish I were, but I confess I am severely challenged in the kitchen.  I try real hard, but I struggle with cooking.  I think it’s the amount of time it takes to prepare and clean up that frustrates me when I come home after a long day at work.

However, I am a foodie….big time! I can eat like no tomorrow.  One of my favorite dishes is my mom’s recipe for Mexican sopa de estrellitas (little stars soup).  I can seriously eat this every day. I posted the above pic on instagram a few weeks ago and was encouraged by my blog followers to share the recipe. So, here goes as promised.

Beauty Tag: Skin Care

Hi ShuGar lovelies!

How was your weekend? Mine was so much fun because Mr. ShuGar and I worked on a video together. I love working with him. We have such creative synergy. Every time we put our brains together, we create beautiful art. Can’t wait to show you the video this week!

Well, I am so happy to tell you I have been tagged by my blogger friend, Wen, from her sweet blog, Wen Talks to Shoes. This is one of the things I love about blogging…meeting new friends like Wen. I highly recommend stopping by her blog and saying Hi! She’s lovely.

Let Go

I am a self-admitted control freak.  I like to do things myself, my way. I am not intransigent, but I prefer doing it all and having full control.  In general, this works well when it comes to my job. Not only do I get things done, but they are completed in the proper fashion. However, I realize this is all an illusion. I really can’t control everything at all. I cannot control what people will think of me, how they will react to my actions, or if someone will hurt me.  How terrifying!

What should I do?

In Your 30’s: Baby Talk

I love my 30’s. It’s the most empowering decade of my life as of yet. So much better than my 20’s. However, there are side effects to turning 30. Besides the fact that your metabolism completely comes to a stand still (hello, Weight Watchers!), you also have to deal with a bombardment of questions about marriage and baby. And, no, men don’t get flooded with the same type or quantity of questions as we do. I’m sure they get some questions, but nothing close to the level of us women.
